Unidentified Armed Group (Cambodia) vs Civilians

On 2026-04-29, gunfire was heard in the O’Smach area of Oddar Meanchey Province during an inspection visit by the Military Attaché Corps to Phnom Penh. Cambodian defence officials said the shots were believed to have come from M-16 rifles and M-79 grenade launchers while the attachés were observing the O’Smach International Border Checkpoint. No fatalities were reported.
