Attack kills 9–10 people at Chagai mining project in Balochistan, Pakistan

On 2026-04-23, unidentified armed men attacked the National Resources Limited copper and gold mining project in the Darigun area of Chagai district, Balochistan, at around 5:45pm. Police said private security guards resisted and a heavy exchange of fire followed; the assault left 10 people dead, including a Turkish national. Sources described the victims as mainly miners, and Frontier Corps personnel responded and cordoned off the area.
