Chinese national jailed in US fraud case

On 2026-04-03, Huachun Zheng, a Chinese national unlawfully residing in the United States, was sentenced to 30 months in prison by a US District Judge in Hartford, Connecticut, for his role in an identity theft and vehicle fraud scheme. Authorities said he had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.
