Northwest Territories premier responds to Utsel K'e Dene First Nation apology calls

On 2026-04-08, Northwest Territories Premier R.J. Simpson released a statement apologizing to Łutsel K'e Dene First Nation for the impact of a past "forceful invasion" of a camp on Artillery Lake. He said he had heard from community leadership and members and took responsibility for learning from the incident and doing better.
