Ghana Auditor-General apologizes for GH¢427m payroll error in audit report

On 2026-04-21, the Ghana Auditor-General’s Office issued a statement acknowledging that a GH¢427,995,661.40 payroll figure had been the result of a transpositional error and did not relate to Frank Oliver Kpodo. The office apologized to Kpodo, the government, the public, and the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department for the reputational harm caused by the mistake.
