JAMB reacts to Ibadan hijab incident, says ad-hoc staff were overzealous

On 2026-04-16, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) condemned and blamed an ad hoc staff member over an incident in which a Muslim candidate was told to adjust her hijab at the Esther Oshikoya CBT Centre in Ibadan. JAMB said the worker was overzealous, intervened to call the staff member to order, and instructed that candidates wearing hijab must not be asked to remove or alter it.
