Vaiko

Vaiko, birth name Vaiyapuri Gopalsamy, is an Indian politician. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament of India from Tamil Nadu. He is the founder and General Secretary of the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), a political party active mainly in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. He was earlier elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India from Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu. He is father of Trichy MP Durai Vaiyapuri.
