KC Venugopal

Kozhummal Chattadi Venugopal is an Indian politician who is a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha elected from Alappuzha Lok Sabha constituency and former member of parliament in Upper House and is a member of the Indian National Congress. He has been appointed a General Secretary of AICC and in charge of Karnataka on 29 April 2017. Later, he was given additional charge of the general secretary of the organization. He was the Minister of State for Civil Aviation & Ministry of Power in the UPA Government. He was a Rajyasabha MP from Rajasthan during 2020-2024, controversially resigned to serve as state MLA from Alappuzha, with BJP taking over the vacant Rajyasabha seat in Rajasthan based on their house majority. He had also served as Alappuzha MLA during 1996,2001&2006, as well as served as Cabinet Minister in Kerala Government for Tourism and Devaswoms in 2004.
