Elizabeth Tsurkov is a Russian and Israeli researcher who was kidnapped in Baghdad in March 2023 while conducting doctoral research in Iraq. She was held hostage by the group Kata'ib Hezbollah for 903 days before her release in September 2025. She is currently a doctoral student at Princeton University.
