Dean J. Trantalis is an American politician and lawyer serving as the 42nd mayor of Fort Lauderdale since 2018. A member of the Democratic Party, he is the first openly gay mayor in the history of Fort Lauderdale. Trantalis previously served as a city commissioner of Fort Lauderdale from 2009 to 2017.
