Afshar

Afshar is a tribe of Oghuz Turkic origin that split into several groups in Iran, Turkey and Afghanistan. Today, Afshars mainly inhabit Iran, where they remain a largely nomadic group. They are variously grouped as a branch of the Azerbaijanis or Turkomans.
