New York City Department of Education

The New York City Department of Education is the department of the government of New York City that manages the city's public school system. The department controls the City School District of the City of New York, the largest public school district in the United States, with approximately 1.1 million students taught in more than 1,800 separate schools. The department covers all five boroughs of New York City, and has an annual budget of around $38 billion.
