The current parliament of Bangladesh contains 350 seats, including 50 seats reserved exclusively for women. Elected occupants are called members of Parliament, or MPs. Elections to the body are held every five years, unless a parliament is dissolved earlier by the President of Bangladesh. The most recent parliamentary election was held on 12 February 2026, in which the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) won a landslide victory. The 11-Party Alliance, led by Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh won the second most seats and formed the Opposition
